The battle of a ghetto soldier
Liberian artist Lester David Garmondyu, a.k.a. Lester D, brings his incredible story to life with a dynamic fusion of Hip-hop, R&B ,and Dancehall. For decades, he has been thrilling dance floors with his mastery of rhythm and poetic lyricism, winning several awards and international acclaim in the process.
As a child, Lester was forced to fend for himself at an early age. Abandoned by his parents, he was in and out of several foster homes before being forced into the hard life of a ghetto soldier. Deep down, however, he knew he was meant for something better. All it took was one slap of a djembe drum for him to realize that he wanted to become a musician. Soon, he was spending every spare minute writing songs.
Fueled by his passion for music, Lester would eventually escape his dire circumstances, immigrating to Sweden, and later the United States. He settled in California, where he was able to reflect on his experiences, and began work on the songs that would become his best work yet. The album he poured his heart and soul into is called “Bringing The Fight.” Full of inspirational messages that glorify hope in the face of despair, it is the sound of an artist who has dedicated his life to using music to bring happiness to a world in desperate need of relief.
